Bob Marley can be seen by many as a very influential person who made it from poverty to stardom. Bob Marley was an amazing musician who encountered many struggles in his early life as well as his adulthood. Even though he endured several hardships, he prospered and accomplished much, while receiving a great number of honors as well as awards throughout his musical career. Bob Marley was born Robert Nesta Marley in Nine Mile, Jamaica to Cedella Booker and Norval Marley, who are two different races (Steckles 1-2). Oddly enough, bob had managed to get his first single “simmer down” to number one on the music top 100 charts in Jamaica. In addition, to him getting his single at number one, he also played his music at the iconic studio one (Steckles 35-38). Bob had his very first accomplishment of his adult life when he signed with JAD records, which ironically was the record company that sponsored the wailers.
