Around the world there are body standards that are expected, but is the true for the mixing pot called america? America is known for the increase of immigrants no matter what other people say in 2017. Body standards have truly taken over the minds of teens and young adults. Taking over the minds of our youth with images of thin men and women, then turn around saying that you are beautiful. Around America there are different standards for men and women, with kids becoming involved in body image too soon, and what other countries think about the bodys in America.
The expectations for men and women in America are high for a normal person trying to get through everyday life. There are different body types all over the world, what that counties perfect body image is and what everyone else views. ”Bangkok, Thailand, a woman there says that she associates people from the US with being 'obese', adding that she does actually have her own experience with weight gain in the country” (Weiner). In Asia people think thin is best and only way, anything over a size four women is overweight; America now is more accepting with a person's body size. ”Berlin, Germany, weighs in with: 'Most people believe that Americans are dumb, mostly eat fast food and are very patriotic” (Weiner). Germany is known for their homemade dishes, with them being a little round the stomach as well, they mostly do not like the unnatural things we put in are food. Most of the people around the world views Americans as fat, with are portion sizes fit for three; in other countries they are fed smaller portions that can not be taken
