It’s Time to be Truly Happy For this spiritual reading assignment, I chose a book in which I was hoping would really help me find my way back to true happiness. When I found out my church was giving out copies of a Matthew Kelly book, I knew immediately that no matter the book it would be amazing. I have read many of his books in the past and have never been disappointed. Matthew Kelly’s books are all so inspiring in so many ways. He has books that bring people back to Catholicism, inspire them to grow in their faith, and to find true happiness. The book I chose for this spiritual reading assignment is called Resisting Happiness. The key to happiness, as Matthew Kelly states, is to find a way to lay down our lives in a way that engages our talents and abilities. We must follow a path in life that ensures our happiness, not others happiness, not what others want, but what we want to be happy for ourselves. We as humans like to make others happy and in a lot of cases we are not happy in the end. I say this very confidently because of how much I do this. I always want to make other people happy, no matter how affected I would be in the end. I feel it is so important to provide for others and do everything in order for them to be happy. This has developed into me having to suffer what comes out of situations like these, but because of the bond I have with God, I am able to have relief when I lay myself down and give everything to God. Finding a path in life that suits your talents is so important. You have to do things that make you happy and each and every day I am trying to follow that path rather than making others happy before
