During the Civil War, boy soldiers were affected for the worse fighting in the war, then for the better. One reason why I think boy soldiers were impacted negatively was that boy soldiers were not able to express their feelings after a battle with many deaths, especially after a deadly battle. On page 31, it states that, “the officer would order the men on, not allowing them to dwell on what they were seeing or feeling. Keep low, keep low, he shouts. Stay alert, boys.” The boys would have to learn how to deal with the sight of dead men every time a battle had ended.The impact of war impacted the younger boy soldiers for the worst in different ways.
