6th grade BPI Reflections Competency Reflection Growth and Achievement I have shown Growth and Achievement this school year in many ways. I have shown Growth and Achievement in IXL. I have Grown in IXL by 50 points in IXL diagnostics. I have grown up in I-Ready also. I have grown in the test we take on I-Ready by a good amount. I have also grown up in sports. I have grown up in football, baseball, and basketball. My main thing I have grown up with is basketball. I hustled and played really well and played well all around. That led me to win MVP in a tournament I played with a travel team. I have grown up in baseball by hitting the ball a lot better. In football, mainly because I have grown up in the weight room. Innovation and creativity I have shown Innovation and creativity this year in many different ways. I made an ornament for social studies this year of a pyramid. I had to use details and make it look as realistic as a pyramid. I also have made a mummy in social studies of carrots. I put the carrot through a mummification process. I have also made a cabin for reading a book we read called “Percy Jackson”. I also made a piggy bank. I designed it as a football. All of these help in innovation and creativity because they have to use a lot of creativity and use a lot of thinking to make all of these art pieces. This shows how I have developed innovation and creativity. Communication. I have shown communication in many ways this year. I have made a QR code. QR codes relate to communication because I had to do a lot of talking in each one I made. I have also made a personal narrative writing piece about superheroes. Sports involve a lot of teamwork in any sport you play. Also, I have improved a lot in teamwork from sports. Another thing I have done this year in teamwork was build agriculture. In agriculture, me and a partner built a glove bat for a project in Ag. The project was to make something related to Ag. Also for teamwork I have made a cabin with a partner in reading. The cabin had to relate to a book we were reading called “Percy Jackson”. Me and the partner had to work together to figure out how to make it stable. All of these relate to teamwork because I have had to work with people. Problem Solving: I have shown problem solving in many ways this year. One thing I have done this year for problem solving is create a slideshow about an invasive species. I did this in my science class. This relates to problem solving because I had to work on what to put on the slide, what websites to use to find info on the species, and I had to find good pictures of the species. Another thing I have done for problem solving was to make a solar system ad. I made this for my science class. This is related to problem solving because I had to figure out what backgrounds to use for the video, the music, and what sites to find my info
