The Odyssey is a wonderfully spun web of words, written by homer. It takes place around 700 B.C. in the Mediterranean area. The Odyssey is about a great hero, Odysseus, and his journey home. Odysseus is faced with many challenges and hardships on his voyage home; some of the challenges inflicted by gods and mortals, others simply by fate. However Odysseus overcomes these challenges and presses on. Throughout the story Odysseus shows his bravery and his superhuman strength, that is what makes him a hero.
Odysseus, being one of the bravest men of his fleet, never turns from danger. He would charge towards it, knowing he would die, if it ment saving a life. Odysseus showed great bravery when he made the sacrifices in order to call the spirits
