There are many institutions in the United States of America, which have been dedicated to the care of cancer patients with diverse objectives ranging from offering treatments, information, psychological, monetary and social help, etc., to those people who go through these illnesses.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a national health organization operated by community volunteers. The ACS offers a variety of services and programs for patients and their families. In addition, the ACS supports research, provides printed materials and conducts educational programs. Staff can answer calls and distribute publications in Spanish.

The NBCC subsidiary organization, the National Cancer Coalition of the Seno Fund (NBCCF), encourages and trains its members to take a leadership role with legislative, scientific and clinical authorities. Once trained, these intercessors represent the NBCC as they influence public policies that impact the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The NBCC is designing a patient-focused website that contains information about research, detection and risk, diagnosis and testing, treatment options and quality of life. The NCCS provides support through four programs: the Pediatric Oncology Program (a children's oncology program that offers direct financial assistance), the Care to Share Cancer Connection Program (an Internet support network for families), the Global Outreach Program (a program of worldwide reach that distributes cancer-related pharmaceuticals that were donated) and Beyond The Cure (helps childhood cancer survivors to integrate their experiences with cancer in their new lives). Financial assistance from the Pediatric Oncology Program covers food during treatment, transportation to treatment and back home, long distance phone cards, lodging during treatment, health insurance premiums, and medical expenses not covered by insurance.
