Promotion
Promotion is the way the business communicates with its customers. It provides information that will help customers decide whether or not they want to buy my product or service. The cost incurred through advertising the goods I offer will be a big chunk of my overall cost of producing my item. A successful promotion will aid and increase sales so that advertising and other costs are spread over a larger output.
Apple has had many notable advertisements. The advertisements have maintained a style of contemporary art focusing on showing how the product is used rather than telling consumers about the product while also incorporating popular culture references. I think television advertisement is this is the best way to advertise as a lot of people watch television. I will want to do my advert between the times of 7 and 8pm as this is when the soaps are on in the week and these are the most watched programs during the week, also people tend to have finished work by this time. It will cost me £5000 for every 30 second slot and if I want it aired all over Britain like I do it will cost a further £7000-£10 000. This is without production costs. My advertisements will be 30-seconds short and will focus on specific aspects of why the new iPod with solar charger.
In my commercial I will show people who use my iPod all over the world. For example 2 mountain climbers in the Alps are using my iPod. In all scenes there is sun in the background to show that it is possible to charge your iPod everywhere you want if there is sunlight. I will add some beautiful nature scenes because people like to see it and they will link my company Apple to nature and environment friendly. At the end of my advertisement you will see a windmill. After this shot there will be a text with: Everybody can be green with the new iPod
