An online database provides information on business by sector, number of employees and turnover. An online database such as Dun and Bradstreet (www.dnb.com) offer archive material to researchers without having to sign up. Useful source of market research data offer full or part reports of over 40,000 publications from over 350 research firms. Other external sources to obtain data include banks, stockbrokers, trade and professional associations, media owners, local authorities and government sponsored organizations. (b) Internal or by-product data
Internal data or by-product data are secondary data. Internal data can be collected by employee since they have large amounts of information although it is not designed for the research. Internal data can be collected from the accounts department, the sales and marketing department, production and operations, and the human resources department. (c) Government data and official publications
Government data offers a wide variety of information for the specific data for certain organization.
