The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 – An Act that makes further provision to securing the welfare, health and safety of a person at work, to protecting other people against risks to safety or health in connection with activities of people at work, preventing the unlawful acquisition, controlling the keeping and use, possession and the use of dangerous substances and for controlling certain emissions into atmosphere; to amend the law relating to building regulations, and the building (Scotland) Act 1959; to make further provision with respect to the employment medical advisory service; and for connected purposes.
