However in 1875, a full four years before Wundt, Williams James established a psychology lab of his own at Harvard University. James was not credited with creating the world's first laboratory because his lab was used for teaching demonstrations rather than experimentation and original research.
There is often some confusion about who psychologists are and exactly what they do. Usually, information concerning the profession is not always easy to find, and even psychology majors can hold inaccurate beliefs. There are various different fields that Psychology can be applied to. For instance, health psychologists study how biological, psychological, and social factors affect health and illness, and help their patients adjust to illness and treatment. Developmental psychologists study a person’s physiological, cognitive, and social development throughout life. Some specialize in behavior during infancy, childhood, and adolescence, or life changes that occur during old age. Neuropsychologists study the relation between the brain and behavior, and often work with patients who have suffered from a stroke
