For instance, in the poem “Wilderness” by Carl Sandburg he talks about and explains in the text that the more meaningful words you have in a story and/or any poem, that it will have more meaning and more of an impact on the readers just like he used in his own poem. For instance, when Arthur Gordon says “The man swung the heavy net back, twisting his body and bending his knees so as to get more upward thrust.” (16) Gordon, this confirms that strength is a very important part of survival because if he didn't he wouldn't have gone overboard with the first pull of the fish. However, being physically fit does not account for the unexpected. Just like Arthur Gordon stated “He tried to claw the slipknot off his wrist, but there was no time.” (22) Gordon When he said this, it revealed that no matter how strong you are it’s not gonna matter when things happen too fast and/or catch you off guard. Even though people can argue that being physically fit isn’t the most important part of survival, and isn’t always the most important, it is still a good strength to have to navigate through situations you can’t control
