“Schools across the country are cutting back or even eliminating programs in the arts, recess, electives for high school students, class meetings, . . . and entire subject areas such as science (Kohn, 2007, para. 8). This is unfair to the students because many other schools may offer a program that is not available to them. If standardized testing funding was put towards other school programs and activities, many students may find an extracurricular activity to take part in after school. This implication would make many schools more enjoyable for students and imprint an overall better experience. There are however some benefits to standardized testing. For most students, these tests are not too difficult and beneficial towards them. Also, this is a decent way to test all of the students at one time. On the other side, this form of testing is a heavy load on students work toll. These tests are designed towards one type of student, not the every student.
