The electromagnetic microwaves emitted from cell phones have been tied to the reduced ability to concentrate and complete activities. People prefer to pay more attention to their cell phones rather than what is going on around them. An example of a major problem that goes along with this is texting and driving. This is causing many accidents because people are not paying attention to what is on the road, but instead looking down at their phone. Wherever someone goes they are not paying attention to the task at hand, but rather the phone in their hand. Cell phones are becoming a huge distraction from important things such as school and studying, which are resulting in bad grades. Also, these cell phones are causing a negative impact in places such as work because phones are causing people to slack. Phones ring and buzz and cause disruptions in places like these. This is a much larger problem then it is set out to be, so everyone needs to be cautious because it can sometimes be very serious. It was found that brain cancer has been tied to the radiation given off by phones. It was also found that mothers who overuse their phones are more likely to have a child with behavioral problems (Correspondance: Are we too dependent on the cell phone?). People who over use their cell phones have also shown signs of under stimulation and boredom while being away from them. This caused them to not be in contact with others as much. Today everyone is so caught up with what is happening on their phones they ignore those right in front of them. This is causing people to grow distant because they are more concerned with the things on their phone rather than the people right next to them. There is no longer a value for face to face communication, it is much rather preferred to send a text then talk in person. This has also caused people to no longer have proper grammar and to speak in
