The company Cheerios released an interracial commerical that turned many heads nationwide. Gracie is the name of the little girl who played in the cheerios commercial. She had an African American father and a caucasian mother.This brought so many negative attention and the viewing of the commercial increased. As the world continue to become more modern the more interracial relationship increases.
The cheerios company knew the consequences for the commerical going viral. I feel as if the company was trying to connect to their audience more, specially in this modern society. Most of the older generation were raised with there own race surrounding them, it was not normal seeing someone of color talking to a white female or vise versa. Tradition can slowly corrupt our thinking process,specially in this new modern society that's filled many new and out of the norm things. The article “The Changing Face of America” stated that it's in our nature to normally spot something different on one's appearance or skin color. I feel as if we humans have builded this mentally image in our brain that classify how a African American male and a caucasian male should look.
