Alessandra was a three year old little girl who was loved by both her parents. One day Alessandra’s dad decided to leave her and her mother. Ever since then, Alessandra's world changed. Alessandra was soon neglected by her mother. Her mother would blame her for her father leaving them. She would receive harsh punishment from her mother, and would be left without food for many hours. Child neglect is a major problem all over the world. Many innocent children are victims of child neglect.
Child neglect can cause the kid to grow up with emotional or physical harm. According to Pearl Buck,“What is a neglected child? He is a child not planned for, not wanted. Neglect begins, therefore, before he is born”(Buck). Emotional neglect includes calling them names and bestowing them a harsh punishment. For example, some parents place the blame on their children by telling them that they are the reason their mother or father left them. In addition, physical harm influences the kid with leaving them without food for a long time, and leaving them somewhere they don't belong.
