In my first game as a volunteer at the North Metro Miracle League Buddy Baseball, I helped with the younger children’s league. The kids aged anywhere from seven to ten. I specifically helped a child named Gus. Gus didn’t have the same disabilities as some of the other children and seemed to be completely normal. However, it was still a great time to watch him run the bases and scoop up ground balls during …show more content…
Over the summer, I worked at a camp at the Dunwoody Nature Center. While I was a counselor there, I dreaded going to the rambunctious kids every day. I never enjoyed being there. This Buddy Baseball League service showed me something different. It showed me that I have the strength to help people that actually need help. I especially liked it because I was able to watch the kids as they were playing the games, their smiles wider than oceans. God helped me learn of this strength by putting me into the children’s shoes so that I could see how their lives were. My initial reaction to this call from God was to not follow it. I knew from previous experience that I did not like working with children. Eventually, I followed God’s call and helped the children at buddy baseball. This service made me see how the people in my community help others to see God. I saw this because without my community at school, I never would have participated in buddy baseball.

I think that I relate to Noah because I want to show people God by working with them and helping them to get through struggles. I also relate to Noah because I can lead when it is needed and still be a team player. Noah had to lead his family to build the ark and get all of the animals that God had instructed him to, but when there was work to be done, he jumped right into line and helped his
