Is Chipotle Stock Worth Owning?

Well, let’s put the food safety issue to rest. Chipotle is not the fіrѕt рорulаr food chain tо be abandoned bу customers аftеr a foodborne іllnеѕѕ оutbrеаk. Bacteria outbreaks hаve happened tо MсDоnаldѕ, KFC, Tасо Bеll, Jасk in thе Bоx, Cоѕtсо, Wаl-Mаrt, and Whоlе Fооdѕ. Whеn уоu gо to аnу of thеѕе соmраnіеѕ' lосаtіоnѕ, аrе уоu соnсеrnеd аbоut соntrасtіng E. соlі? Do these brands associated have a long-term association with harmful bacteria or unsafe food? The answer is no.

In the 1990’s, Jack in the Box came roaring back after a dreadful E. coli scare. In 1993, 732 people were infected with E.coli after eating at Jack in the Box. This was a nationwide scare. It hasn’t lived up to it. Unlike Chipotle, which has an unique design for Mexican grill, the Tasty Made design is too close to Five Guys. Likewise, the burgers are criticized for being thin, dry, and not having a beefy flavor. Additionally, the prices aren’t particularly competitive. On the other hand, the fries are praised as being flavorful with a nice texture. The milkshakes are also spoken well of. It’s a nice start; yet an uncelebrated hamburger is a major issue for a burger joint. Overall, Tasty Made doesn’t look it will be a major growth driver of the stock for now.

Another hope for CMG would be opening up new Chipotle locations. Chipotle has a presence in most popular metropolitan areas. In other words, the low-hanging fruit has been taken. In order to expand at a healthy rate, the restaurant will have to select poorer locations. This looks to be another drag on
