In recent history, color vision scientists have discovered that some humans perceive different colors when looking at the same object, and call them by the same name. For example, two people could look at an apple, a strawberry, and a heart, and both of them would agree on its color: red. However, one person’s red could actually be a different person perceiving the color blue, just naming it the same thing. This is the same way it is with worldviews – a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world. But before a definition must be given, there must be understanding that not all Christians believe everything the same way. Homosexual behavior is not the only sin mentioned, but it is, however, included in the list Jesus gives. Thus, supporting gay marriage would be an acceptance of a sinful lifestyle – which all Christians are in opposition to. Another way of looking at it is looking at what the Bible states as the purpose of marriage. In the Bible, God made marriage a covenant, a lifelong promise and commitment between a man and a woman, for four main purposes: “(1) The spiritual partnership and mutual edification of husband and wife in pursuing the will of the Lord. (2) The procreation of children and the nurture of the human family. (3) The development of spiritual intimacy and the fulfillment of sexual pleasures through conjugal love. (4) Protection against lusts, immorality, and sexual
