The Islamic community hold their practices in a mosque which was founded by Muhammed. “Alternatively, some prefer to think of the Ka’bah in Mecca as the first mosque in the sense that Muhammed and his followers prayed there during the years prior to the Hijra (Gwynne 322).” Muhammed and his followers prayed constantly and some of the community prayed in private homes. Two main types of mosques can be distinguished; Masjid Jami or a collective mosque, which is a large state-controlled mosque that is the center of community worship (Britannica). The Christian building is referred as a church, chapel, cathedral, or basilica which are structured very similarly as each building shows a crucifix and/or the Virgin
