Muslims believes there is no concept of sin. They also believe humans are born without sin, but because of human weakness, that then leads to sin. So, ultimately, sin exists but is only brought upon humans, due to their weakness of giving into sin. Christianity believes humans are born with sin. Ultimately, they believe it is a curse from when Adam and Eve rebelled against God to pick the forbidden fruit from the only tree God said to stay away from. Muslims believes that with good deeds and righteousness that outweighs the sin, one can have salvation. Christians believes in Grace, which is God’s undeserved love. They believe that they receive grace through faith in Jesus Christ which allows them to have eternal life with Jesus (Gwynne, pg.352). Christians also believe that once in heaven, humans will have an immortal soul:
“ Both body and soul ultimately will be rewarded in heaven or punished in hell ,” (Christianity, pg.352).
Though these differences exist, a way they are similar in this concept is both Islam and Christianity believe in the doing good deeds. Mathew 22:37-39 states “Love your God with all your heart, mind and soul, and to love your neighbor as yourself.” In the Qur’an, it states that everyone is a servant of Allah and therefore everyone should treat each other with the same respect, and love.
Another difference within Islam and Christianity is Hell. Muslims believe Hell, they call it Jahannam, is several levels or torture but that they may not spend eternity there. It is a place for people whose sin outweighs their good deeds. Christians
