Aly Daniels Emilee’s experience compares to other experiences that I have heard about from other people in the size of the program. Emilee’s program is much smaller than a lot of the programs around Johnson County and Manhattan. Emilee is able to take on many roles within her program. Instead of being solely a service coordinator, or a primary provider, or an office worker, Emilee is able to take on all of these roles. Another way that Emilee’s experience compares is because she loves her job. Every single person who I have heard talk about his or her jobs in early intervention loves their job and finds it extremely rewarding. In addition, Emilee mentioned the transition process, which was not mentioned much by other people when discussing early intervention. Organization will help me to be able to keep track of all of my cases. It will also help me to be prepared for each family that I interact with. Organization will also help me to be effective at filling out and filing my paperwork efficiently. My trait of kindness will help me to be able to relate to my families. It will also help me to be able to relate to my families, show empathy, and build relationships that are meaningful and will provide success for the families and their children. My trait of patience will help me to be able to handle confrontation. I will be able to keep my cool and listen to what the family has to say. The patience will also allow me to be able to coach more effectively. It will allow me to take my time and be more understanding of when a parent is trying to learn a new concept or master a new skill that will be beneficial for their child.
