Scholarships and Financial Aid encourage students to excel academically. According to Jacob Davidson (2014), “And some schools have big merit scholarships that are only renewed if students maintain a GPA of 3.5, such as Baylor’s $38,500 per year Regent’s Gold Scholarship”. When an expectation has been set following with a reward, it is more likely for a student to aim for that reward rather than avoiding it.Students may sometimes be faced with difficulties that may hinder them on their journey. Most of the time they still prevail and succeed to be able to get what they want and accomplish it. Discipline teaches students to avoid obligations and violations to maintain that financial aid money or scholarship. College comes with great responsibility. “Every year, tens of thousands of rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors lose scholarships they had counted on” (Davidson, 2014). With this discipline, college students will think twice about the impact of a poor grade. The actions that students take now can affect their future and put them in problematic situations. It is a must that students take full responsibility for everything they do, and always be mindful of what the main goal
