Growing up, my parents have always wanted me to go to college and earn a degree so I can have a brighter future than they did. Even till this day, society has brainwashed us saying if we do not go to college and get a degree then we cannot be successful. In other words, college can “magically” make you rich but if you do not go then you will have a hard time becoming wealthy. People only tell us the bright side of college, but they never tell us the dark side. My first expectation for college was going to be easy and flexible, but then it turned out to be a lot different than expected. It is funny how people choose to go to college so they don’t have to worry about financial problem in the long run, but it is ironic how one of the first and biggest problem for student is financial problems. According to the article Student Debt: Should College Tuition Be Free? States that college tuition keeps increasing because schools are giving out more financial aid, creating more programs for athletes and for students to be successful, but most people don’t even take advantage of it or they not qualified to be part of the program (Tom). People are paying more money just so that it benefits other people but themselves. Regular students have to pay for athletes even though they do not receive any direct benefits from those programs. That’s why student debt was one of the major issues in the 2016 presidential campaign. Till this day, students are still struggling with tuition. Because tuition is so expensive nowadays, people decide to take a break to work so they can afford to go to college. What they don’t know is that the longer you don’t go to school, the harder it is for people to get back on track on focusing on school because they not use to studying and go to class, so people ended drop out again right after. That why one of the main reason why for students to drop out is due to financial problem. In an article, they did a static review between 3 million students, the result showed us one out of every three college students ended up dropping out due to financial problems, failing classes, bad fit, etc(Primary Menu). Many students end up dropping out of their college because they realize what they have been told their whole life about college is wrong. They realize how scary is it to go to college and enter the real world. They ended up dropping out because they are not ready for the stress that college gives
