One of the biggest arguments against going to college is the high prices required to attend one. Granted, it is true that you cannot exactly get through college on “chump change,” but if you can get through college and get a job your degree will begin to practically pay for itself. According to David Leonheardt of the New York Times, there is “a new study that shows that a bachelor’s degrees pays off for jobs that don’t require one.” Even when someone has a degree but a job that they don’t need a degree for they will still be better off, because they are better equipped to solve more complex problems and do the work they have to do in their career.
College is an investment. A tool for the betterment of ourselves and our lives. A vehicle to success in the workplace. It is admittedly at times a fairly expensive tool, but it is well worth it.
