Quinn Fehr 5/15/24 US history 3rd period The Columbine Massacre The Columbine massacre was a school shooting that occurred at Columbine High school in Colorado. The thing that led to the Columbine shooting was that no schools had security, metal detectors, and open doors. After the Columbine massacre, schools began to get security, and tighten up on gun laws. Schools began to have to prepare for what would happen if there was a school shooting. The Columbine Shooting happened on April 20th, 1999 in Littleton, Colorado. This was the first and most significant school shooting because it left 13 dead and many injured. After ruining so many lives, the two guys pointed the guns at themselves and shot themselves, committing suicide. The two school shooters were Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. Before the shooting, there were signs that showed their future actions. Eric Harris always thought about war and wrote about it. He was excited when he found out the United States was getting ready to bomb Yugoslavia.
