Having done this project it made me realize what Peter stated, “To come to be you must have a vision of Being, a Dream, a Purpose, a Principal. You will become what your vision is”. By having to read this quote it made me realize that freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes. In other words it made me think that you must be the change you wish to see in the world that leads to the presenting self. The collage of pictures and words that symbolizes the face I put on to the world describes what I’m trying to “put out there” in day-to-day life. The picture of the women who is a doctor represents how I strive on an everyday basis to achieve my goals and make a great effort in everything and anything. For an example, I have always strived my best to do well in all my classes especially my Advanced Placement classes that enhances my abilities to further my education. I would like to be a doctor so that I can help people because it’s a great privilege to have and know that as a doctor you share in people’s darkest and happiest moments. Knowing that becoming a doctor means that it holds a great overbearing feeling to know that someone else’s life is in your hands. This is why I would like to become a doctor so that I can help others in day-to-day life. One of the main things that I have on the presenting side is happiness which is a journey, not a destination. I had this glued on because there’s always an obstacle in the way, some unfinished work which later on striked me that all of the obstacles that I have faced or gone through were my life and by learning and going through these obstacles it has given me a different perspective of happiness and came to realize that there is no way to happiness. It’s just being happy for this moment, because this moment is your life. This relates to the photo that says Tonight, Today, Forever which means to live for today not tomorrow or in the future because no one can behold what the future has to give us or know what will happen later in time. Having said this it can relate to the words keep calm and sparkle meaning enjoy what life has to offer. Tying two to three of these pictures/words together has the same relative meaning to me that symbolizes the face that I put out to the world and trying to “put out there” in day-to-day life. The meaning behind all of this is that you have to live life to the fullest and forget the past and don’t concern yourself with the future. As Jennifer stated, “Live every day as if it’s your last, embracing each experience as if it’s your first.” Meaning enjoy each and every moment of life. Every day is a new challenge and opportunity to discover something new. Another word that I used as my presenting self that I put out in day-to-day life is determination and being wise because I’m always determined to do or achieve something and that its important to be willing to do anything to overcome any challenges that face me. Being wise is the word that I am trying to face and put out there in the world in day-to-day life because I feel that it’s important to show knowledge and good judgment. As Megah stated, “With time, a wise person grows deeper in knowledge but does not abuse that knowledge by shutting out others or claiming to be the sole repository of ideas and answers; instead, a wise person willingly shares what they have learned and enables the growth of others willing to listen.” This statement is so true because to be wise, you must know yourself.
Having a perceived side means withholding information because we might feel that people will judge us or assume differently about us if they knew who we “truly” are. By placing objects, words, and phrases that people didn’t realize about me represents the person I am in my moments of self-reflection. The phrase that I have glued on there about friends: A seven Letter Word, I can’t live Seven Seconds without questions what makes a friend worthy of the name. Most of the time
