Assessing Communicative Skills
Lesson Plan: Bubble Blending
Goal(s): Studentswill learn to blend sounds with ine another in order to make words.
Ojective(s): Students will be able to blend sounds together to make out words in which the teacher introduces to them. Students wil be able to read small words and build their vocabulary.
Activity:1.Students will begin by reviewing the bend sounds in which they have already been introduced. 2.The entire class will review blends on the flip chart.As the class flips through the chart they wil sound out the blends together and add ending to make words . 3. Students will be broken into small groups to work with blend puzzles. While in groups the teacher will visit each group to assess students while they are blending the words on the puzzles.
Formative Assessment: At the completion of this lesson the students each student will be assessed one on one. Students will have to pronounce the blends and words on a sheet put before them. Missed blends and words will be marked.
Summative Assessment: Students will be assessed one on one. They will be given a cold read., where they will have to pornounce blends and make out words. Missed words and blends will be noted and assessed again at the mid point of the year.
At the completion of the lesson I will be able to review both assessments to see just what progres each student was able to make. I
