The Indians were intensely spiritual. Their religious beliefs consisted of both nature and human life. They believed in the natural elements; the sun, moon, stars, rain, mountains, rivers, and animals. Offering live human sacrifices such as captives, slaves, women, and children, Indians did this believing the Gods would bring forth good harvests and victory in battle. Europeans believed that Indians should be converted to, their religion, Roman Catholicism after arriving to the New World. Europeans also believed in witches, demons and angels, heaven and hell, magic and miracles. They felt these beliefs were worth killing and dying for. Native Americans used as such for sacrifices.
War was mandatory and a commonplace between rival groups in the Native American culture. If peace was made with rivalries, each of those factions must look out for other nations to engage in their beloved territories. European societies were more different than they were similar. As time progressed, it was more prevalent and divisive
