After looking through the book, Exploring Art, I have chosen to compare two photos of very important buildings. One is the Imperial Throne Room in the Hall of Supreme Harmony, Forbidden City, Beijing. And the other is the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles, France. From a traveler or gazer these are both extraordinary rooms that almost look alike. But when you get to deeply looking at these pieces, they have several differences. Determining where the pieces came from and what kind of message it tries to tell it people.

Along with etchings of some kind of traditional symbols around the building structure poles. Little squares of art cover the ceiling but you can’t really tell what is up there. Some look like the dragons from the floor, while others look completely different. They have dragon or snake like features surrounded by a sea of blue with a little red in the very middle of each square. The work is very intricate, it must have taken a long time to draw and etch each square out. Then in the center of the vast ceiling is a round hole which suspends a light or chandelier of some sort. It looks like a big round sphere surrounded by six miniature round spheres. Crossing lines are also in the mix, showing focus to the chandelier and the hole in the ceiling.
