From the reading of “Allegory of the Cave,” the prisoners believed that what they saw or heard from the shadows were a part of reality. In saying that, the prisoners from Allegory of the Cave, saw artificial things as reality, making what was going on an illusion, almost like in The Matrix where the computer was showing people an illusion of their life. Also Allegory of the Cave can compare to the matrix because both Neo and the prisoners have been manipulated since they were children. When comparing Descartes and The Matrix, it can be said that in both stories, they both begin to question what is real and what is not real.
