Comparing Two Standards

From a young age many of us are taught that bad actions stem from Satan luring us into his ways, pulling our focus away from God. On the contrary, we are taught to pray and make good choices that reflect our attitude toward God and strengthen our faith. Throughout history, values have differed depending on the other implications going on in the world. Previously, having power and large military means were valued by societies, and treasured those who had the most power and the biggest armies. Leading up to today, there are many developmental models that attempt to explain how and what to do in order to become your best possible self, as well as the Two Standards that compare the way God would achieve a best self, and contrast with the Satanic way. The standards encouraged by God begin with poverty, humiliations, humility and lead to all virtues. In finding your poorest, lowest self, God believes that by helping others, accepting our insecurities and seeing the bigger world around us is key to developing to our fullest potential. In this arrangement, God's gifts are not abused, rather enjoyed and enough. The mischievous, power-seeking, and never good enough attitudes that influence such actions are those of Satan who wants to be better than God, and to dominate the rest of society. Satan values riches, honor, pride and all of the vices. By tricking or convincing those who are more vulnerable, Satan has this "look at me, I'm the best" type of attitude, that tells others the land and all it has belongs to him, as well as a selfish relationship with everyone he encounters.
