The Outsiders movie and novel are both amazing! They are both very similar in many ways. There are some differences though.

The novel and movie have many similarities.For example; The church in Windrixville burned down in both the movie and novel. Johnny,Dally,and Ponyboy got back from Dairy Queen and they saw the church burning.Another similarity is the socs tried to drown Pony in the park fountain.Johnny had then killed Bob.Even though they have many more similarities, they also have many more differences.

A major difference is that in the novel Darry slaps Ponyboy, but in the movie he pushed Pony very hard .He fell asleep in the lot and that caused him to not get home until late, and Darry and Soda were worried sick or him. Therefore when Darry slapped/shoved Pony, him and Johnny ran away.That lead to Johnny dying because of the church fire.Johnny died a hero. …show more content…
