1. Recall a time when your manager was unavailable when a problem arose. How did you handle the situation? With whom did you consult?

When I worked at Main Event as Party Host I was responsible for about 20 children running birthday parties or events. One of the parties I had that day the kitchen was running a little behind. For each section of the party, a certain amount of time is allowed in each area. Well, the parents of the birthday child. I couldn’t find a manager to smooth over the frustration. So, I pulled the parents aside to explain the situation. What I could do to help get all the things they were promised by extend the time in the room and move around the other activities. also adding addition five dollars to the children’s game cards. Then when my manager was available I explained the situation.

She had a nasty attitude and didn’t get along with pretty much everyone on the staff and sometimes with any guest that came in. I didn’t take it personally I was never rude to her continued to treat her like everyone else. I thought maybe there is something more going on in her life that why she acts this way. One it was very busy and we began to talk about our lives she started to tell me how she a had grown up as well as different things she as encountered. After that talk with her, I completely understood why she is that way. Does it make it right no but sometimes you have to step back consider what they might be going through and not to take it
