Every nursing students needs to acquire the standard of competence before applying to register in the NMC register (NMC, 2010). NMC safeguards the health and well beings of the people by maintain a register of qualified nurses and midwives (reading and Webster, 2014). To be accepted on the register, student nurses needs to demonstrate, they have achieved the skills, knowledge and attitude to be a graduate practice that is fit for practice (reading and Webster, 2014). NMC laid out its standard of competence under the four main domains which are professional values, communication and interpersonal skills, nursing practice and decision making, leadership, management and team working (NMC, 2010). Jones Aled (2014) suggests that the transition from student nurse to registered nurse involves the process of learning, adjustment and socialisation to the new place. Therefore, the support I get from the employer will enable me for the future development in my career. Moreover the Midstaffordshire public enquiry in 2013 suggest that, the nurses demonstrate an up to date learning on an annual basis consisting of evidence of recognised training and wider relevant learning.
