Why I chose it- I picked the Coronary Artery disease because I am relly interested in how the heart works and my disease affects the heart. Also both of my great grandparents on my mom’s side passed away because of this disease.
Treatment-
Self-care-Physical exercise, Quitting smoking, Weight loss, and Low fat diet
Medications-Statin, Blood thinners, Beta blocker, Heart medication, and Calcium channel blocker
Medical procedure-Coronary stent and Angioplasty
Surgery-Coronary artery bypass surgery
Getting a special liquid injected into the artery to help keep it open
Symptoms- Symptoms may consist of, pain in the chest, indigestion or nausea, lightheadedness or sweating, or fast heart rate and shortness of breath. Sometimes it even has no symptoms so it can be tricky to see if you have it. Also it passes down through genes in your family. What does it affect- The Coronary Artery Disease effects the heart because plague builds up so much in the arteries that no more blood can get to the heart. Without and blood being supplied to the heart, there is no more oxygen for the heart. Then is when the heart has a heart attack, and that can lead to major problems in the future. How doctors see if you have it- A blood test can be taken to see if you have Coronary Artey Disease. The blood test determins if there's plague buildup in the arteries. If you do, than you are at risk of Coronary Artery Disease
What does someone look like if they have it?- They look normal, that's why its difficult to see if you have it without a blood test.
How does it affect peoples lives?-Coronary Artery disease can affect all aspects of your life– especially your psychological or emotional
