From this description, significance, meaning, and examples of correctional rehabilitation will be showed. Correctional rehabilitation is concerned with effecting positive change in individuals. It is achievable for the offender to change for the better with the right support. For instance, the offender is offered treatment programs. Psychological treatment programs to correct the offender’s personality and offering educational opportunities to improve the offender’s character. On the other hand, not many offenders can change for the better, as treatment programs might not be as effective as they would be with a less ill convict. From a younger age, adults can manipulate and influence children by internalizing crime causing beliefs, for example ‘’it is ok to steal’’.
