I first became interested in this career because I really like to make people feel better about themselves and look their best. One of the perks that a cosmetologist has is that they get to determine their own schedules if they are self-employed (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). The better one gets at cosmetology, the more money they can make since their skills are better (Trieu). Another perk is that one is allowed to show their creativity when working (International Academy). Cosmetology has a lot of career opportunities in the industry. The job of a cosmetologist is in high demand currently (International Academy). In addition, the overall employment for cosmetologists is projected to grow 11% by 2031 (International Academy). In simpler terms, there are about 89,400+ openings (MyFuture). There are openings pretty much anywhere someone can be self-employed (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Also, there has to be openings because people need to replace old workers who are leaving the field (MyFuture).
