Ryder woke with a throbbing headache. As his eyes slowly drifted into focus, a hospital room came into focus. A dull throbbing pain pounded in his head, and the drunk couple yelling lovey dovey shit back and forth was not helping. Looking down, he tried to figure out how he got injured. It all came flooding back at the speed of light.
Holy shit, he could not stay in her because he would a sitting duck. Ace’s mocking face rose in his mind and Ryder knew he be diligent about finishing the job he started by shooting him. Trying to sit up, he accidently knocked over a side table. Shit, someone was going to come for sure now and he couldn’t even defend himself until the drugs wore off.
