Creative Writing: Strangers In The Dumpster

With a sharp snap and the wind vigorously whirling around me, I was on the ground. Wet leaves cling to my home sugar maple tree that was now struck to the ground, I'm only a stick now. The rest was a blur as I am now waking up to the sound of water flowing near me, while recollecting last night, I was picked up face to face with an otter. Before I know it, the otter drags me into the water. Water rushes past my bark and I'm thrown into the air.
“Hey! What do think you're doing!” I cry out to the otter as I land in a pile of rocks on top of an abandoned dam. The otter curiously raises its head and looks everywhere before landing its gaze on me, its eyes staring me down. “ Who are you?!” The otter blurts. “I'm Stick, who are you?” His head tilts in curiousity, “I’m Jeff!” He says excitedly, then proceeding to ramble on about himself until I interrupt, “I'm lost. I have nowhere to go but I need to get to land and find home.” I say anxiously as I stare into the racing water. “Oo Oo I can take you!” he exclaims, and just as soon as the otter spoke I was (quite carelessly) picked up into his furry grasp heading towards

The dog began to prance ahead down the path, continuing to hold me hostage between the cage of his canine teeth. Soon after being slobbered on, the trees began to part and we were met with a clearing of weirdly small square structures that humans seemed to be walking in and out of. It dawned on me that these were homes, like the tree was once mine. I guess going to new places wasn't so bad, especially since the dog, who I became to know as ‘Buddy’ wasn’t chewing on me so much.
