This has become a major disadvantage to the Indigenous population of Australia because, for many, the cause of the high rates of apprehension of Aborigines can be contributed by the current political, social and economical issues that resolve around Indigenous issues and their correlation to the Criminal Justice System (Davis 1999). It can be identified that social class has a considerable impact on the relationship between policing and First Nation peoples, Australia’s society is continuously operating to oppress the Indigenous people by alienating political power and using the Criminal Justice System to maintain a specific order and functionality within Australian society (Davis 1999).
