The outcome of the Cuban Missile Crisis was that first of all Nikita Khruscchev removed the missiles that he has placed in Cuba in exchange that the United State will promise not to invade in Cuba. Also the nuclear missiles were removed from Turkey. Both the Soviet Union and the United Stated have realized what role the nuclear weapons can play in the global area and what consequences they can bring. The nuclear arms race has intensified and created more danger in the world. And as the consequence, realisation and the comprehension that the nuclear war cannot be rational for any state and can even have the suicidal effect, they came to the decision to discuss the reduction of the nuclear weapon in SALT talks. The United Stated have failed to overthrow the government of Fidel Castro, but prevented the possibility of the nuclear war and ended the crisis peacefully. The Unites States won the Crisis in the sense that the Americans were able to prevent the nuclear war and convince the Soviets to negotiate and end the crisis peacefully. So, the United States think that John Kennedy has pursued the peace in this crisis and saved the world from the possible nuclear war. Indeed, the US had a success by being able to solve the crisis by the negotiations, rather than the war that could strike the Third World War. The Soviet Union and Nikita Khruschev made the world worry that the Soviet Union is able to compete with his enemy and has the same powerful weapons and abilities. He wanted people to understand that they should not underestimate the Soviets. Nikita Khruschev counted that the Soviets had a victory from this crisis, because they have extracted the promise from the United States not to invade Cuba. The Soviets thought that the main goal of the Americans was to destroy Cuba, therefore the Soviets placed the missiles in Cuba in order to protect it. Nikita Khruschev called the Americans as the main aggressors that aimed to attack Cuba.
