Cultural competency within healthcare is of utmost importance. Doctors and other healthcare providers must acknowledge their patient's cultural differences and needs. If I were a healthcare provider, I would try my best to adhere to those who have a different culture than myself. There are multiple methods I could use to make a patient more comfortable. Examples of these methods include but are not limited to: breaking linguistic barriers, hiring more diverse staff, and taking into account what kind of treatment might go against a patient's cultural background. Of course, there are even more ways to show cultural competency, but these are the examples that I will provide throughout this paper. In this scenario, in which I am a hospital director, I plan to properly explain what I would incorporate into my practice. Firstly, I believe it’s important to look at my cultural competency to see how well I would stick to these ideas.

Having diverse employees allows the workplace to flow with new ideas and innovations. Having a broader scope of opinions and ideals allows more communication and acknowledgment to take place. Making our workforce much stronger. Creating a diverse environment with a more complex definition of perspective allows a hospital to grow and thrive. However, incentivizing diversity has another use. For example, there is a patient who is of a different cultural background and may have a different way of doing things when it comes to health. This may seem foreign to the nurse who is working with said patient, but with a more diverse workforce, the promotion of understanding becomes even stronger. Diversity is very important in healthcare, not just for the staff, but for patients as well. Diversity seeks to strengthen cultural competency and understanding. Understanding a patient also boosts cultural
