Just like her husband, Curly’s wife had a dream. Curley's wife is the boss's daughter-in-law. She is an outgoing and occasionally manipulative person. Her dream was to become a movie star, because she wanted people to talk to her. She wanted to be special, not ordinary. She wanted to leave her small town life and make it big. “The guy says I coulda. If I'd went, I wouldn't be livin' like this, you bet." (pg. 103) If she had become an actress, people would talk to her, listen to her, and not just think of her as the boss's son’s wife. She would have friends and not be lonely.
