One of the influences that encourages young people to engage in risk taking behaviour is the the fear of exclusion or being ostracized by their peers.
Exclusion Is ‘ the act of not allowing someone to take part in an activity or to enter a place’, it is evident that with young people, feeling the need to belong and have a solid identity is an important factor in adolescence. It is normal for a young person to believe by not participating in behaviours that are seen as “cool” that they may be excluded and not invited to future events. Exclusion and the fear of not fitting in are two crucial components that lead to risk taking behavior particularly in young adolescents ,peer pressure from friends and other party goers can influence and affect a person's mentality and morals in order to fit and feel apart of the crowd, something as simple as wanting to feel accepted can make any person do things they wouldn't normally try.
