Support the Dream Imagine yourself being brought by your parents to a country at a very young age, living there most of your life, having the hope that it is the place were all your dreams and hopes in life can come true, but suddenly the government tells you that you cannot fulfill those dreams. In the government’s perspective, you do not belong to that country even though it is the only place you know and refer to as home. Although it might sound like the beginning of a horror movie, it is the reality of many people living in the United States. It is the only hope for most Dreamers to get a college education and work legally in the country, for that reason it should not be ended. Let’s not see DACA as giving a reason for people from other countries to enter the country illegally as it is only given to people who have been in the country since before 2007 and who must meet other specific requirements. DACA shouldn’t be seen as awarding people who came illegally to the US because it is not the case since Dreamers where brought by their parents, not by their own choice. The opposing side should also know that DACA is not providing citizenship to Dreamers, it is just not prioritizing them for deportation. The economy of the United States is affected positively by the help of DACA since it is better for the government to have a regulated market instead of a black market of untaxed labor. Dreamers aren’t going to exit the country immediately even if DACA ends, as the government is not going to focus more in undocumented people who have committed a crime. Finally, the only thing DACA is doing is helping Dreamers who want to follow their dreams and ultimately be recognized for what they are,
