Japanese Internment was a policy instituted in 1942 to incarcerate Japanese Americans. As World War II tensions were growing, America was showing more avid disapproval towards Japan and its allies. Finally, the US ceased trade with the nation, which prompted Japan to launch a deadly attack on US naval base, Pearl Harbor. Following the attack, most of the US displayed resentment towards Japanese-Americans despite the demographic having no correlation to the battle. Nonetheless, president Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, which effectively sent all Americans of Japanese descent to a series of prison camps.
