The death penalty is a very controversial issue. Many people have different opinions about how criminals should be disciplined. Even over 50% of Americans favor the death penalty. Many people want the death penalty to be abolished, and there are others who support the death penalty but only in certain cases. As for me, I am in favor of the death penalty.
People will take advantage of others and commit crimes as long as it is in their best interest to do so. The purpose of our entire criminal justice system is to protect the rights of life, liberty, and property for all citizens. To do this, the punishment for crime must be harsh enough to deter crime. For this reason the death penalty makes perfect sense.

The society that uses the strictest form of punishment has the lowest rates of heinous crimes. Life is the most precious thing that human being can possess. However, this right should be violated for common good by the government.
