The United States successfully navigated numerous difficulties during the struggle for its rights. We go back to the 18th century when Great Britain managed to build a British Empire through its conquest. Later, Great Britain would establish the 13 colonies in American territory. English and European powers continued in their power struggle; the intellectual movement called the Enlightenment, or the Age of Reason emerged during the 18th century, and while all this was happening, the thirteen colonies rose in arms in the fight for their rights. The Declaration of Independence of the United States, is a fundamental document in the nation's history, proclaiming the separation of the Thirteen Colonies from the British crown and establishing the foundational principles upon which the new nation was founded. During the 18th century, an intellectual movement called the Enlightenment, or the Age of Reason emerged, in which more importance was given to reason and science, unlike the beliefs in superstition and blind faith promoted at that time. According to the wording of the Declaration of Independence, there seems to be a connection with the principles of the Enlightenment as it reflects principles such as individual freedom and equality before the law. These principles remain relevant today, forming the basis of movements in society. Those we now choose to govern are responsible for upholding these ideals, as they are principles of welfare and equality for all citizens. The government can achieve all this by creating policies and programs aimed at freedom, equal opportunities, and the pursuit of justice for all
