Differentiating delirium in children can be difficult, several tools have been developed to help nurses screen for delirium in infants and children. The society of critical care medicine did a clinical practice that outlined the evidence based practice in agitation, managing pain, and delirium in critical care patients. Diagnosis of delirium should be made with awareness. The goal of screening for delirium is to remove as many risk factors of it as possible. My focus is mental health and delirium is considered a mental disorder. I may have a future patient with delirium and by reviewing this article it gave me a better understanding of the disorder. The tables in the article had parts and it discussed things concerning the disorder. One part of the article had a table that discussed what parents could do in order to manage having a child with delirium. I found that to be very helpful for someone who was going through that. It basically had different strategies that someone could use while dealing with a child or adult with delirium.
